Christian F. Witzke, MD is Director of the Structural Heart Disease Program and Director of the Latin-American Cardiovascular Program at Einstein Health Network. Dr. Witzke is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine. He is a graduate of “Universidad Central de Venezuela”, Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship training at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed two year training in Interventional Cardiology and Structural and Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Witzke has a special interest in the newly and growing field of Structural Heart Disease. He is sufficient in the art of percutaneous closure of heart defects and percutaneous management of varies valvular heart diseases.
Dr. Witzke has become not only bilingual but also bicultural in Spanish and English. His passion for his Latino roots has inspired Dr. Witzke to develop the “Latin American Cardiovascular Program” at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia. This Program provided cardiovascular care for Latino patients, most of them, non-English speaking. Through this Program, Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia has expanded their care to this markedly underserved patient population.
